Links Processing

Text description of a link.

Address (URL)

The address a link refers to.

Text filter (text)

A group of fields to filter the text descriptions of links.

Address filter (an address)

A group of fields to filter the addresses of links.

Show only text links

Displays only text links.

Show only image links

Displays only links hidden behind images.

Hide links to current web site

Hides links that refer to files located on the current web site.

Task properties

The task properties to use when creating tasks for the ticked links.

Edit

Change the task properties.

Apply to All

Apply the filters to all links, even those not currently displayed in the list.

Apply to Visible

Apply the filters only to the links currently displayed in the list. This command is useful when applying several filters sequentially.

Create Tasks!

Creates tasks for the ticked links.

Open Ticked

Opens every ticked link in a separate browser window.

Open Visible

Opens every visible (displayed in the list) link in a separate browser window.

Description

Delete a task when it is completed

A task is automatically deleted when it is completed (with at least one file downloaded).

Start saved tasks at program start

Saved tasks are started automatically at program start. If this options is disabled, the tasks are loaded in the paused mode.

Delete paused tasks on program exit

Every paused task is deleted when the program is closed. If this options is disabled, paused tasks are saved.

Allow the program to download files from other web sites

Allows the program to download files located on a web site other than the one being searched.

Remember the Links Processing settings

The settings of the Links Processing dialog are retained between program runs.

Start the program automatically

Picture Ace is started automatically when Windows starts.

A left click on the tray icon opens destination folder

A left click on the tray icon opens the current destination folder. If this option is disabled, a left click shows the main window of the program.

Automatically close notification windows

A notification window is closed automatically in 5 seconds. Otherwise, you have to close the window yourself.

Always notify me when a task is completed

Notifies you on every task completion. If this options is disabled, the program doesn't notify you when a task downloads one file.

Display "A new task has been started" balloon

Enables/Disables the balloon which notifies you that the program has accepted a command and started a new task.

Default task properties

The predefined task properties set that is loaded when you select the New Task command.

Image viewer

The program to view images in the thumbnail mode.

The maximum number of simultaneously running tasks

The number of tasks that can run simultaneously. Other tasks wait till one of the running tasks is completed.

Integration Method 1 Enables the integration method that uses the Browser Helper Object technique to accept commands from the user. This method works only with Internet Explorer.
Enable Ctrl + Click and Alt + Click Enables Ctrl + Click (Save Image), Alt + Click (Save Large Image), Z + Click (Save Image & Back or Save Image & Close) commands.
Add the program items to the IE context menu Adds the program items (Save Image, Save Image & Back, etc.) to the Internet Explorer context menu. This is an alternative to using the Ctrl/Alt + Click commands.
Put the items in a submenu The program IE context menu items are placed in the submenu called Picture Ace.
Items at the top and at the bottom of the menu Puts the program IE context menu items at the top and at the bottom of the menu. Otherwise the items are placed at the edge nearest to the mouse cursor.
Integration Method 2 The program items are added to the IE context menu. This method works for IE-based browsers as well.
Add the program button to the IE toolbar Adds the program button to the Internet Explorer toolbar.
The commands and predefined properties sets list Lists the commands and predefined properties sets that will be available (checked items) from the IE button and the IE context menu.
Auto-close the program The program is closed automatically when the last Internet Explorer window is closed.
Allow you to enter a file name Allows you to enter a file name when saving an image from the web browser. You can temporarily enable this option by holding down the Shift key while executing a command (e.g. Save Image).
Show task properties dialog Displays the task properties dialog every time you support, Destination Folders and File Naming, Features of Picture Ace, Image O create a new task from the web browser.

Destination Folder

Destination Folders The list displays existing destination folders. The selected item is the current destination folder. Note that there must be at least one destination folder defined.

Alias The short name of a destination folder. An alias is displayed in the IE button menu and in the tray icon menu.

Folder The folder to save images (files) to.

Add Add a new destination folder.

Edit Edit an existing destination folder.

Delete Delete an existing destination folder.

Create a subfolder for each web site Creates a new subfolder in the destination folder. The name of the subfolder is the same as the host name of the file URL. For example:
The file being downloaded: http://www.pictureace.com/sample/image.jpg
The subfolder name: pictureace_com

Create a subfolder for each web page Creates a new subfolder in the destination folder. The name of the subfolder is the same as the web page file name. For example:
The file is downloaded from: http://www.pictureace.com/sample/example1.htm
The subfolder name: example1_htm

Create a subfolder for each file type Creates a new subfolder in the destination folder. The name of the subfolder is the same as the file extension. For example:
The file being downloaded: http://www.pictureace.com/sample/image.jpg
The subfolder name: jpg

Create a numerical subfolder for each task A new numerical subfolder is created for each task, e.g. 00001, 00002, 00003.

Use the current date as a subfolder Creates a new subfolder in the destination folder. The name of the subfolder is the current date. For example, 14-05-2004.

Recreate folder structure from URL Creates a few embedded subfolders based on the URL of the file being downloaded. For example:
The file being downloaded: http://www.pictureace.com/sample/big/image.jpg
The subfolders being created: sample\big

Glue subfolder names Concatenates names of the selected subfolders and creates only one subfolder (e.g. site + page + type = yahoo_com-pics_htm-jpg).

Up/Down Moves the selected item in the subfolder list up or down. The subfolder creation order depends on the position in the list. The higher an item is, the sooner Picture Ace creates it.

The list displays existing image types. Image types are used to control what kind of files the Save Images and Save Large Images commands download. Having multiple image types allows you to switch between them easily using the IE button or the tray icon. Note that there must be at least one image type defined.

Alias

The name of an image type. An alias is displayed in the IE button menu and the tray icon menu.

File Extensions

the file extensions of an image type. Picture Ace considers a file with the specified extensions to be an image. This option is used by the Save Images and Save Large Images commands. When executed, the commands save only files with the extensions specified.

Add

Add a new image type.

Edit

Edit an image type.

Delete

Delete an image type.

Large image is an image which

Defines what kind of images must be considered large (full-sized as opposed to thumbnails).

Has the minimum file size of

The program considers an image to be large if its file size is not less that this value.

Has the minimum image size

The program considers an image to be large if its dimensions are not less than the values specified. Note that this applies only to JPG, GIF, PNG and BMP image types.

File naming options

Defines the way images are named when being saved to your hard drive.
